10.12 Short-timescale variables

Gaia DR3 provides a list of 471 679 short-timescale candidates with timescales below 0.5–1 day from about 34 months of Gaia photometry (see table vari_short_timescale). This section summarizes the steps employed for obtaining this list, as well as the verification and validation performed on the obtained sample. Details on the short timescale analysis methods and algorithms are described in Roelens et al. (2018, 2017).
