20.14 Performance verification

20.14.11 sso_orbits

Orbital parameters and uncertainties computed from solar system object epoch astrometric observation data.
The content of the table is described in the DR3 publication Tanga et al. (2023) and is based on epoch observations in table ssoObservation.

Columns description:

number_mp : SSO Number (int)

Permanent number attributed to the Solar System Object.

denomination : Solar system object name (string)

Provisional designation or official name of the Solar System Object, following the rules of the Small Bodies Nomenclature (SBN) working group of the IAU.

osc_epoch : Reference epoch for osculating orbit (double, Time[Julian Date (day)] )

Reference epoch of the osculating orbit, mid-point of the time interval spanned by the observations of the Solar System Object, given in days at 12h (TCB). Orbital elements are either elliptic (Keplerian) or cartesian (state-vetor).

mean_anomaly : Mean anomaly (double, Angle[rad] )

Mean anomaly, orbital element of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

arg_perihelion : Argument of perihelion (double, Angle[rad] )

Argument of perihelion, orbital element of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

long_asc_node : Longitude of ascending node (double, Angle[rad] )

Longitude of the ascending node, orbital element of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

inclination : Inclination (double, Angle[rad])

Inclination, orbital element of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

eccentricity : Eccentricity (double)

Eccentricity, orbital element of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

semi_major_axis : Semimajor axis (double, Length & Distance[AU] )

Semi-major axis, orbital element of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

orbital_elements_var_covar_matrix : var-covar matrix on elliptical elements at reference Epoch (double[21] array)

Covariance uncertainty matrix of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric). Diagonal and triangular components.

std_dev_semi_major_axis : Standard deviation on Semimajor axis (double, Length & Distance[AU] )

Standard deviation uncertainty in the Semi-major axis of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric).

h_state_vector : Heliocentric State Vector at reference Epoch (double[6] array, StateVector[au, au d-1])

Initial conditions position and velocity (state vector) in cartesian coordinates of the osculating orbit at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric, in the ICRF). Units are au for positions, and au/d for velocities.

h_state_vector_var_covar_matrix : Covariance matrix of the State Vector (double[21] array)

Covariance uncertainty matrix of the state vector (h_state_vector) at reference epoch (osc_epoch) (heliocentric, in the ICRF).

arc_length : Orbital arc length spanned by the observations (double, Time[day])

Orbital arc spanned by the observations that were used to fit the orbit of the Solar System Object (in days).

num_observations : Number of observations (int)

Total number of observations used in the orbital fit of the Solar System Object (i.e. excluding outliers).
